How did you and Mark first meet?
We met through our mutual friend Jon! Jon was my boss and he also played AFL with Mark, so we got to know each other through this. We formed an amazing friendship which progressed from there!
We spoke to each other everyday and hated being apart. He makes me laugh until my belly hurts to this day. I fell in love with his heart of gold. Mark is the most caring, generous and sweetest man I know! I’m so lucky!
How did he propose?
Mark and I shared our first kiss on Anzac Day in 2013, and he first told me he loved me under a large Oak Tree on Waheike Island beach in NZ. So, on Anzac Day 2015, under the tree where he first told me he loved me, Mark popped the question! We had an amazing weekend, spending the weekend in a secluded apartment overlooking the bay!
It took me by surprise! It was an amazing moment and weekend!
How would you describe your relationship:
It’s just so easy! Life is relaxed when we are together and it makes things a lot easier! We love laughing and not taking things too seriously.
What did you want guest to remember about your wedding day:
We wanted our guests to be relaxed and involved in the moment, sharing the occasion with great food and drinks! A waterside venue hopefully ensured everyone enjoyed the view and relaxed nature of our wedding
Key styling features of your wedding:
I fell in love with my bridal bouquets the moment I saw them. They were EXACTLY what I wanted.
We absolutely adored our ceremony set up. The white Tiffany chairs with mason jars and flowers dangling on the chairs along the aisle. The white rose pedal aisle and the two large urns with flowers at the head of the alter was the perfect backdrop.
At the reception we our guest and bridal table settings were just perfect!. The bridal table was complimented with gold charger plates, an assortment of candles and flowers. The guest tables were alternated with candelabra and large vases with a massive array of flowers.
Funniest moment of the day:
I would probably have to be Marks and my entry song. We danced into the reception to ‘The Goodies theme song’. Thought it was quite fitting now being Mr and Mrs Goodey!
And also the speeches from the best man Paul (marks brother) and Marks speech too.
Is there anything you would change about the day if you would do it all again?
Slow down time for the day! It went way too quickly. Oh and I would have left room for dessert!
Tips for future brides:
Don’t get side-tracked by weddings in bridal magazines and expectations. Make your day what you want it to be as a couple without the pressures of society. Focus on what’s important to you both to ensure its a day filled with wonderful memories. This day was hands down the best day of our lives and the most perfect way to begin this next chapter of our lives together.
Congratulations Jess & Mark! We wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.
Jess and the Angelic Team xx
